Tree Pruning & Crown Reduction

Expert pruning to keep your trees healthy, safe and looking their best — carried out to British Standard BS 3998.

Pruning Services We Offer

All pruning work is carried out to BS 3998:2010 by NPTC qualified arborists, ensuring your trees are pruned correctly without causing lasting harm.

Crown Reduction

Reduces the overall size of the tree's canopy while maintaining its natural shape. Ideal when a tree has outgrown its space or is causing issues with nearby structures.

Crown Thinning

Selectively removes branches throughout the crown to increase light penetration and air movement without reducing the tree's overall height or spread.

Deadwooding

Removal of dead, dying or diseased branches to improve the tree's appearance, reduce the risk of falling limbs and support the tree's long-term health.

Formative Pruning

Carried out on young trees to establish a strong, well-balanced structure from an early age. Prevents future problems and reduces the need for major interventions later.

Pollarding

A more severe pruning technique that removes all growth back to the main trunk or a set of branch stubs. Carried out on appropriate species to control size and encourage vigorous regrowth.

The Benefits of Regular Pruning

Many tree problems can be prevented with timely, well-executed pruning. Regular maintenance keeps your trees in peak condition and reduces the likelihood of costly emergency work further down the line.

  • Improves the tree's health by removing diseased or damaged wood
  • Reduces the risk of branch failure and property damage
  • Lets more light into your garden and home
  • Maintains a tree's shape and aesthetic appeal
  • Extends the life of the tree
  • Keeps trees safe near roads, power lines and buildings
